Honda Civic 10th Generation
The tenth generation Honda Civic marked a turning point for Honda's lineup of C-segment vehicles, for the first time ever every country got every body style. This meant that those in America could finally purchase the hatchback version of the Civic (which was built in the UK no-less) and Europeans could indulge themselves with a Civic saloon for the first time ever.
This generation of Civic also spawned possibly the craziest Type-R variant we have ever and may ever see. A turbocharged inline 4 putting out 316bhp was just the beginning for this mad machine, a triple exit exhaust, super angular rear wing, bold cooling ducts and low driving position made it feel more like a Ferrari than a Honda.

BMW 1 Series 2012-19
This generation of 1 Series was the point where this model became purely a hatchback, the introduction of the 2 Series name took away the coupe and convertible body styles from the 1 Series nameplate, making it a pure hatchback for the first time ever.
The 1 Series stood out from the competition thanks to its incredible engine lineup and pure rear wheel drive powertrain. The thought of BMW engineers trying to figure out how to cram the M140i turbocharged 6 cylinder into this thing makes my brain hurt just thinking about it, but with a 0-60 of around 4.4 seconds and a power output of 335hp it was certainly worth the stress.
