BMW 4-Series / M4 2013-20

As part of BMW's campaign to separate its sporty coupes from their boring, mainstream counterparts, the 3 and 5 series coupes were spun off into their own trendy model numbers, the 2 series and 4 series respectively. The 4 series in particular has always stood amongst BMW's lineup, it's the perfect size for a coupe and with engines ranging from a 1.5L inline 3 to the 3.0L twin-turbo inline 6 found in the M4 there really is something for everyone.

The sales reflect this too, in North America the 4 series outsold it's little brother 2 series by about 11 to 1 and the M4 remains one of the most popular and beloved sports coupes in the world.

Audi A5 2016-24

Designer Walter de Silva famously called the first generation Audi A5 "the most beautiful car I ever designed", high praise coming from the man who also designed the Audi R8, Alfa Romeo 156 and Mk7 Golf.

The next generation Audi A5 didn't really need to change much then, in true Audi fashion they took an existing design that they knew looked good, and brought it up to speed with the present day, which makes sense given their slogan translates to "progress through technology". This facelift included a digital dash, LED daytime running lights, a nicer interior and most importantly, a top-of-the-line supercharged V6 putting out 349hp.

Ford Mustang 2015-23

An American icon, the Mustang has been a staple of the sports coupe market since its birth in 1965 and with the 2015 "S550" generation, Ford finally perfected the modern day sports coupe by giving the driver everything they wanted. Playful but predictable handling, 21st century comforts like Apple Carplay and push-button start, timeless looks and a big 'ol 5.0L naturally-aspirated American V8. It was, of course, a hit for drivers everywhere, including in the UK, where it arrived in its right hand drive form from the factory for the first time ever.
